This howto is useful to help your friend or coworker when they are having problem but you cant help by ssh to their box because of firewall or there is no way in.

First, ask them to ssh to your box or any outside server that you have permission to use. The below command will do. You can use any available free port.

#ssh -R port:localhost:22 user@public_server.com

Example

#ssh -R 22222:localhost:22 patin@sukida.net

Then edit your ssh config file. Make an entry for the server that you want to access.

#vim ~/.ssh/config
Host patin.localdomain
HostName localhost
HostKeyAlias patin.localdomain
CheckHostIp no
Port 22222

Now you are done. It’s quite simple actually. All you need to know is what port he/she using to mapping to the ssh port.

Qemu is an open source emulator. This howto will guide you on how to install Qemu on your FreeBSD and run guest os on it. This installation was done on FreeBSD 6.0 stable.

The Qemu can be install using port.

#cd /usr/ports/emulators/qemu/
#make WITH_KQEMU=yes install clean
Notice: if you need qemu’s -smb option (smb-export local dir to guest)
then you also need samba, you can have this port install it by defining
WITH_SAMBA.

Notice that I use WITH_KQEMU=yes to enable Qemu accelaration module so that Qemu can run faster. To see what other option that can be use/enable please look in the Makefile in the current folder. After finish installation proceed to install the KQemu port.

End of Qemu installation part. Now we go to configuration part.

I plan to install Windows XP as the guest os as my daily work require me to use some application that cant be run on FreeBSD (and linux :D ). As my USB cdrom cant be detected I need to find a way on howto install Windows XP on Qemu. I decided to make an ISO for the Windows XP. This process was done on the other computer. After that I copy the ISO into my computer.

To boot up Qemu with the Windows XP ISO use the following command

#qemu -boot d -cdrom /mnt/winxp/winxp.iso -hda /home/dean/xp.img

Qemu boot

When it boot setup the Windows as usual. After finish shutdown the windows and start with the following command

#qemu -boot c -hda /home/dean/xp.img -user-net -localtime

qemu_win

This command boot up the windows with networking enable and using localtime standard. Networking can be setup in many ways. In my setup the guest will be using the host networking. You dont need to setup any networking in windows. You can straight away access to the internet if your host is connected to the internet.

To check wether Qemu accelerator run or not type Ctrl+Alt+2 in the Qemu windows. Then type info kqemu in the command prompt. If it show kqemu is enable thats mean your kqemu is running. If not load kqemu module using the following command

#kldload kqemu

qemu_info

Or you can put this line in the rc.conf

kqemu_enable=”YES”

To change back to your Windows XP type Ctrl+Alt+1.

One thing I notice that the windows will crash when it was idle for certain minute. Maybe got bug or I should disable the screensaver or the suspend function. Qemu use quite high number of cpu resources.

Then I remember once he said to me check the defunct function or in other words is zombie process. When I run ps and grep defunct the output show that the Java process already become zombie process. No wonder the application always die when i restart it. So how to kill zombie process?

As far as I know zombie process cant be kill. Try to kill it nothing happen :D . The only solution is to reboot the server. But before reboot I try google and found this mailing list. Guess who is looking for the same solution? It’s my collegue hehehe :D . And the solution that he found can be read below

10. Throw records
Doesn’t really kill zombies, but it’s one hell of a way to clean up a bad record collection.

9. Chainsaw
The chainsaw can cut through even the thickest skull and will destroy a brain in seconds.

8. Toaster
When swung by the cord, one can get incredible velocity; also makes toast.

7. Hammer
Another popular tool. Good for the strong and weak alike, and perfect for the novice zombie killer.

6. Fire poker
Heavy, well sized, and very versatile, serving the stab-happy and blunt-crazy zombie killer alike.

5. Pump-action shotgun
Most movie characters are terrible with the shotgun, but it’ll always be a popular choice.

4. The Old Door Trick
When zombies try to come in, slam the door on its head.

3. Rocket Launcher
Legend has it a U.S. college student wrote an essay called, “The Best Way to Kill a Zombie is with a Rocket Launcher.” Who could argue with that?

2. “The View”
To kill a zombie, you must destroy its brain, and what better way to do that than listening to Starr Jones and Meredith Viera?

1. Motorcycle
Go Milla Jovovich! Her scene riding her bike down the aisle of a church in RE:2 was amazing. A must in any zombie invasion.

On last Saturday (04/02/06) me, Mat Syukri and Abuya plan to fishing at sand mine in Puchong. But we had to cancel the plan as Abuya wife got sick. After discussing with Mat Syukri we shoot off to Sukida Resort as we’ve never been there.

Sukida Resort located at Semenyih. To reach there follow the Semenyih old road through Nirvana Memorial Park and about 10KM you will see the resort at the right side of the road. They charge RM10 per day for fishing. If you decided to stay there they have challet that range from RM60 to RM80 perday. For every fish that you want to brought home they charge RM5 per kilo. There are about 5 pond if I’m not mistaken. The species that live here is pacu, patin, sebarau, leekoh, tongsan and few others.

We arrive there around 2.30pm. After paying the entrance fee we prepare the rod and go to the right side pond. I try bottom fishing using palm oil fruits as bait as Mat Syukri go round the pond to casting using lure. After few minutes there is no sign of fish biting the bait we move to main pond because I can see many of the anglers got fish from the main pond.

This time I try using the bread we buy from the counter. After a while I see a nibble from the rod and before I can reach the rod the reel start to screaming and my rod nearly fly into pond. I tighten the drag the fight begin. In the center of the pond I can see the fish jump into the air trying to release itself from the hook. The fish still run towards to other end and my line nearly finish off. I can feel that this is a very big fish. In the end I’ve no choice but to tighten more the drag because the line already finish and ‘tussss’. The sound that all anglers familiar of. My line has broke and I lose the fish. What a fight!

After the first fight there are few fight but I didnt manage to land the fish. Around 4pm something Mat Syukri land the first fish. It is a patin species around 3 to 4 kilos. I manage to land my pacu around 7pm something. That was the only fish that we land that day.

The conclusion is as this is our first trip we didnt know what the best bait for this pond. Only after we using the bread we buy from counter (as advice from one of our member - Botaque) the fish start to bite. The fish here also big in size compare to Laguna pond and more fierce in term of fighting. The facilities also quite good here. They have challet, tent, toilet and prayer room for Muslim. This place also a great outing for family as I can see many angler brought their family to fishing here. I forgot to take picture of the view here. Maybe next time I will take picture and post it here. We going back to PJ around 9pm and going straight to Laguna Pond continue our fishing there :D .

What a day!
