This company Takziah Global Sdn Bhd claim that their soap can be use for ’samak’. Today I read at Harian Metro Online that JAIS said they never approve the soap can be use for ’samak’. They only approve the soap can be sold to consumer. Below is the article from Harian Metro Online.

Edisi KL: JAIS pegang pada Fatwa
Oleh Noor Jaafar
noorj@hmetro.com.my

Assalamualaikum my Muslim Brothers & Sisters,
We share your concern when someone claiming the soap product can be used for “samak” but it turn out differently when the authority denied of not issuing any official letter claiming the soap can be used for “samak”.
Rest assured, we hope to address the issue and came out with a product for “samak” and “tayammum” approved by the authority.
Please visit our website claymiff.com and hopefully the air is cleared on the issue what is the right material to perform “samak” and “tayammum”.
In fact, the right word to use to clean “najis berat/mughallazah” is “SERTU” but we Malaysian have been using the word samak for ages.
We are making effort to educate all our Muslim Brothers and Sisters to use the right word.
Wassalam

Assalamualaikum,
TQ for yor comment. However let me highlight you about hukum samak as JAKIM approval. For the time being JAKIM only certified ONE and ONLY company in Malaysia for producing Sabun Untuk Bersamak, which is Turaab M3, by YAQEEN (Heritage de Beau Impression). Other competitors only using their own syariah panel or some mufti recommendation letter, which we think not good enough to support the products. As for JAIS, that is his(Azam) personal opinion only. JPM already announced that any JAIN/MAIN or even mufti fatwa for the time beinng can only be connsidered as personal opinion. FATWA can only be produced by JAKIM which comprise a collections of elected religious people nationwide. To conclude, the only available soap in the market that can be used for SERTU/SAMAK/TANNING is Turaab M3 as it is the only one CERTIFIED BY JAKIM/SIRIM/MOSTI. Thank you for your concern.

Assalamualaikum to All Brother Muslim and Sister,
Alhamdulillah and congratulation that Turaab M3 soap has offically received JAKIM’s approval for samak(sertu).
Clay Miff is not a soap product. It is pure 100% natural clay in powder form and therefore can be used for Tayammum and Samak(sertu), besides as a cosmetic skin care product, and we received approval from JAKIM’s Syariah Panel Research (Kajian Panel Syariah headed by Mufti Selangor)and SIRIM’s lab test.
If you have any doubt, please call JAKIM personally to check the validity of our claim or drop by our office to view the letter produced by JAKIM. There is nothing to hide and is good to share the facts rather than claiming without evidence.
Constructive feedback is good to all and we should be helping each other to make our noble mission to provide Halal products that is owned by own Brother Muslim and Sister.
All the best to all and may ALLAH blessed our effort to make our Islamic business ventures successful in this world and here after.
Wassalam
